The Hiding Place

Corrie ten Boom and her family said they would consider it an honor to die for one of God's little ones. They proved it by participating in the Dutch Underground during WWII, smuggling Dutch Jews to safety and even hiding some of them in their own home in Haarlem. Corrie's story is one of God's love and forgiveness which can penetrate even the darkest corners of Ravensbruck, or of a single human heart. Written in a way that is warm and familiar, it feels as though Corrie has invited the reader into her living room to discuss the intimate family history. Her faith shines through the pages and provides inspiration to live a life that puts Christ and His people first no matter the cost to oneself. The spell-binding adventure, heartrending tenderness with which it is told, and the compelling love of God combine to make this book one that can alter your view of life. Corrie was far from perfect, and that's what makes her so inspirational. That God could take a woman of many weaknesses and use her in such a powerful way, building and shaping her faith through enormous hardships, is a testimony of His power and love. It gives me hope that God can change even me, but only by His power. I recommend this book as one of the classic biographies of faith.
